The four partner centres are not in one place. They are spread across Jongno, the Teheran-ro corridor in Gangnam, Yeouido, Seocho and Mapo, and the distance between the furthest two is most of the width of the city. So the honest first answer to where you should stay is that it depends on which centre performs your program, and that is settled when the program is confirmed.
Book the room after you know the centre, or book one you can cancel. Everything below assumes you have that answer.
The centres, and where they actually are
| Centre | Address | Station |
|---|---|---|
| KMI Gwanghwamun (광화문) | 149 Sejong-daero, Jongno-gu | Gwanghwamun exit 6, directly outside |
| Hanaro Jongno (종로센터) | 33 Jong-ro, Jongno-gu, Grand Seoul Tower 1, 5F | Jonggak |
| KMI Gangnam (강남) | 411 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu | Seolleung exit 10 |
| Hanaro Gangnam (SCL강남하나로) | 326 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Yeoksam I-Tower 6–11F | Yeoksam |
| KMI Yeouido (여의도) | 24 Gukjegeumyung-ro 2-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, BNK Financial Tower | Yeouido exit 3 (lines 5 and 9) |
| Hanshin Medipia (한신메디피아) | 94 Jamwon-ro, Seocho-gu, 3F | Banpo exit 4 or Jamwon exit 3, shuttle from both |
| MediOne (메디원) | 66 Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu | Hapjeong exit 3, in front of it |
KMI and Hanaro each run several centres, and which branch you are booked into is as specific as which centre. Two of them sit within a few hundred metres of each other in Jongno and two more sit on the same street in Gangnam, which is why the districts below are grouped the way they are rather than one per centre.
Jongno, for the Gwanghwamun and Jongno centres
These two are close enough to share a shortlist. KMI’s Gwanghwamun centre is at the mouth of Gwanghwamun station exit 6 and Hanaro’s Jongno centre is a short way east along Jong-ro at Jonggak.
Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, 97 Saemunan-ro, on Gwanghwamun station. The closest thing on this page to across the road from a centre, and priced accordingly.
Somerset Palace Seoul, 7 Yulgok-ro 2-gil, at Anguk. Serviced apartments with full kitchens, which is the one hotel feature that genuinely earns its keep on a screening trip: you can make the first meal after a fast in your own kitchen instead of hunting for a restaurant while lightheaded.
Nine Tree by Parnas Seoul Insadong, 49 Insadong-gil, between Anguk and Jonggak. The mid-range option in the same walk.
The Jongno cluster has a second advantage that has nothing to do with the screening. It is the part of Seoul most people actually came to see, so the nights either side of the appointment are not spent in a business district.
Teheran-ro, for the two Gangnam centres
KMI’s Gangnam centre at 411 Teheran-ro and Hanaro’s at 326 Teheran-ro are on the same street, roughly between Yeoksam and Seolleung stations. Anything on the line 2 corridor between the two works for either.
Novotel Ambassador Seoul Gangnam, 130 Bongeunsa-ro, one block north of Teheran-ro near Yeoksam.
Shilla Stay Gangnam Yeoksam, 517 Eonju-ro, a few minutes off Teheran-ro and about 600 m from Yeoksam station.
This is a working office district. It is efficient on screening morning and thin on reasons to be there the rest of the time, which is an argument for one or two nights here and the rest of the trip elsewhere.
Yeouido, for the Yeouido centre
This one has an unusually clean answer. KMI’s Yeouido centre is in the BNK Financial Tower, off Yeouido station exit 3.
Conrad Seoul, 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, is part of the IFC complex and connects to Yeouido station underground at the same exit 3. On a January morning at seven, fasting, an indoor route to the centre is worth more than it sounds in July.
GLAD Yeouido, 16 Uisadang-daero, sits at National Assembly station exit 4, one stop along line 9. Cheaper, and still a single short hop with no transfer.
Seocho and Mapo, the two outliers
Hanshin Medipia is at 94 Jamwon-ro in Seocho, between Banpo and Jamwon stations, and runs a shuttle from both. JW Marriott Hotel Seoul, 176 Sinbanpo-ro, sits on top of Express Bus Terminal station, which is the stop next to Banpo on line 7. That is the closest well-signposted option to a centre that is not otherwise near much.
MediOne is at 66 Yanghwa-ro in Mapo, in front of Hapjeong station exit 3. RYSE, Autograph Collection is at 130 Yanghwa-ro, further along the same road toward Hongik University station. This is the one centre where the surrounding district is somewhere people would choose to stay anyway.
What the day actually requires
District aside, a screening day asks for things an ordinary trip does not, and almost none of them appear on the page you booked from. All of it follows from three facts: you will be fasting, you may have taken a bowel preparation the night before, and if your program includes an endoscopy you will be sedated and the afternoon is gone.
A private bathroom you are not sharing. With a colonoscopy in the program, the bowel preparation takes the evening and this stops being a preference. It rules out the hostel or shared-facility option that would otherwise be sensible for a short trip, and it is worth confirming rather than assuming for anything booked as a guesthouse or a room in an apartment.
A dark, quiet room. You will get up early, on an empty stomach, for a procedure. Sleep is what makes that morning tolerable, and it is worth more here than a view.
A kettle. Fasting protocols generally allow water and generally do not allow coffee. Being able to have one at six in the morning without going out is a small thing that stops mattering only once you have it.
Late checkout, over any upgrade. If the appointment is in the morning and you fly out that day, the gap between finishing and boarding is the part that goes wrong. Under sedation you should not be travelling far, driving, or relying on your own judgement, and a room to go back to changes that afternoon completely. It is the one hotel feature on this page worth paying extra for.
Breakfast, gym and pool are the three things hotels compete on that are worth nothing on this particular morning, and breakfast is the one people book for first.
Where in the trip to put the screening day
This belongs in the accommodation decision because it decides how many nights you need where.
Put the appointment in the first half of the trip and not on the first morning. Early, because you get a same-day consultation on preliminary findings, and anything raised there is far easier to act on while you are still in the country. Not the first morning, because a fast and a sedation both go better without a long-haul flight directly behind them.
That usually means one or two nights near the centre at the start, then moving wherever you actually wanted to be. Booking the whole stay next to a screening centre because of one appointment is a common overcorrection.
What this page checked, and what it did not
Every address and station above is the centre’s or the property’s own published information, read on 31 July 2026, and it will go stale when a centre moves a floor or a hotel rebrands. The constraints in the section above that are not addresses are what the day imposes, not measured figures, and are not dated.
What is deliberately absent is any opinion about the rooms. Nobody from this site has slept in these hotels. Naming a property as near a centre is a checkable claim, and calling it a good hotel would not be, so this page makes the first kind and not the second. If a page anywhere tells you a specific hotel is the right one for a medical trip, the question worth asking is who stayed there and when, and whether they were paid to say so.
