₩500,000 is STANDARD at KMI, the cheapest full checkup program any partner centre publishes. See /pricing/ for every program at every centre, and /pricing/international/ for the lists in full.
The methodology line under the comparison table names every source this page draws on and the date each was read. Individual figures carry their own notes where there is more to say. Price figures: Each centre's own published programme document: KMI Check-up Program For Foreigner / KMI 외국인 건강검진 프로그램 (undated); Medione Checkup Center (undated); SEVERANCE HEALTH CHECK-UP PROGRAM (2026.02.04); Hanaro Medical Foundation comprehensive check-up item table (undated). Of these, Medione's checkup brochure (owner-supplied, 2026-09-08) and Hanaro's programme item table (supplied to Meridiko) are documents the centres supplied rather than pages on the web. Hanaro figures are Meridiko's own price for Hanaro's programmes (https://global.kmi.or.kr/examination/foreigner_examination; https://sev.severance.healthcare/sev/patient-carer/appointment/checkup/checkup-program.do), measured 2026-09-13.
United States wait figures are the only ones on this site not from a national statistical publisher, because the United States publishes no diagnostic queue: routine MRI appointments commonly take two to three weeks to schedule, and a national analysis of outpatient imaging found close to half of MRI orders performed more than ten days after the booked date. Read 2026-08-06. Treat them as the typical case rather than a measured median. Korea side: the partner centres' published programme lists held in Meridiko's price ledger (version 2026-09-13). A brain MRI is ₩319,000 and a chest and rib CT is ₩131,000. Home side: self-pay prices as published by imaging providers and price guides in each market, read 2026-08-06. (https://global.kmi.or.kr/examination/foreigner_examination; https://sev.severance.healthcare/sev/patient-carer/appointment/checkup/checkup-program.do), measured 2026-08-06. Dollar figures are converted from each centre's won price at ₩1,342 = $1 (open.er-api.com, 2026-09-13). The won figure is the price; the pairing moves with the rate.
FULL UNITED STATES COMPARISONFraser Institute, Waiting Your Turn: Wait Times for Health Care in Canada, 2025, published 2025-12-09 from a survey of physicians run January to May 2025. Median wait of 18.1 weeks for an MRI and 8.8 weeks for a CT, and 28.6 weeks from GP referral to treatment. Provincial MRI medians run from 12.0 weeks in Ontario and Quebec to 52.0 weeks in Prince Edward Island. The same report lists colonoscopy per province rather than nationally, and for the specialist-to-procedure segment only: on the gastroenterology route the medians run from 4.0 weeks in Ontario to 40.0 in Newfoundland and Labrador. Neither the Fraser Institute nor CIHI publishes a national colonoscopy median, and CIHI does not track colonoscopy among its priority procedures at all. Korea side: a Korean partner centre's published non-covered (비급여) price list, the itemised document 의료법 제45조 requires a clinic to publish, read 2026-08-05. A brain MRI is ₩319,000 and a chest and rib CT is ₩131,000. Home side: self-pay prices as published by imaging providers and price guides in each market, read 2026-08-06. (https://www.fraserinstitute.org/studies/waiting-your-turn-wait-times-for-health-care-in-canada-2025), measured 2026-08-06. FULL CANADA COMPARISONNHS England, Monthly Diagnostic Waiting Times and Activity (DM01), March 2026 report, Table 2 and the March 2026 key findings. Accredited Official Statistics. MRI 21.6% and colonoscopy 28.8% of patients waiting six weeks or more, CT 10.0%, all tests 21.2%, and a median wait across all diagnostic tests of 2.9 weeks. The NHS operational standard is under 1% waiting six weeks or more and was not met. The referral-to-treatment figure is the measured median for incomplete pathways, 12.4 weeks, England only, May 2026 data, from NHS England's Referral to Treatment statistical press notice published 2026-07-09 (https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/07/May26-RTT-statistical-press-notice-PDF-574K-3jBgba.pdf), read 2026-08-11. The same release gives a 92nd percentile of 38.6 weeks and 65.6% within 18 weeks against an operational standard of 92%. The 18-week figure this row carried until then was the NHS constitutional standard, a target rather than a wait anyone measured. FULL UNITED KINGDOM COMPARISONAustralia has no national diagnostic-imaging wait statistic: the AIHW publishes elective surgery waits rather than imaging queues. The 16 weeks here is the reported average for the South Australian public MRI waitlist, over 750 patients, and it is one state rather than the country. Read 2026-08-06. The colonoscopy figure is the national median of 62 days from a positive bowel-screening test to diagnostic assessment, AIHW, National Bowel Cancer Screening Program monitoring report 2025 (https://www.aihw.gov.au/reports/cancer-screening/nbcsp-monitoring-2025/contents/performance-of-the-screening-program/diagnosis), read 2026-08-11. Colonoscopy is a non-surgical procedure and sits outside Australia's elective-surgery waiting-time series, so this screening pathway is the measured one. No Australian publisher produces a referral-to-treatment median: the AIHW measures from being added to a waiting list to admission, and the Australian Medical Association states there is no consistent national methodology for the interval between GP referral and being listed. That row therefore reports what is published, the AIHW's elective-surgery median of 53 days for public patients in 2024-25 (45 days across all patients, 28 for the privately insured), from AIHW, Elective surgery waiting times (https://www.aihw.gov.au/hospitals/topics/elective-surgery/waiting-times), read 2026-08-11. It is not comparable in scope to Canada's referral-to-treatment median, because it begins at listing rather than at referral. Note also that an Australian scan bulk billed with a referral can cost nothing at all, so the gap this page shows is the wait and not the price. (https://www.aihw.gov.au/hospitals/topics/elective-surgery/waiting-times), measured 2026-08-06. Dollar figures are converted from each centre's won price at ₩1,342 = $1 (open.er-api.com, 2026-09-13). FULL AUSTRALIA COMPARISONHospital Authority waiting times for CT, MRI and ultrasonography, Annex II to a Hong Kong Government reply tabled 2025-03-19, provisional 2024-25 figures as at 31 December 2024. HA overall median for routine cases: 92 weeks for an MRI and 64 weeks for a CT. Priority 1 cases are 3 weeks and 2 weeks respectively, so the routine figure is the one a screening referral meets. That annex covers imaging only. For colonoscopy the Hospital Authority has stated on the record that it does not keep waiting-time statistics for the examination in public hospitals (Hong Kong Government reply to LCQ8, 2018-07-04, https://www.info.gov.hk/gia/general/201807/04/P2018070400454.htm), read 2026-08-11, so this site shows no figure rather than substituting a specialist-outpatient or public-private-partnership number, which measure different queues. The outpatient row is that specialist-outpatient figure, labelled for what it is: the Hospital Authority's Waiting Time for New Case Booking at Specialist Out-patient Clinics, for the period 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026 (https://www.ha.org.hk/haho/ho/sopc/dw_wait_ls_eng.pdf), read 2026-08-11. Stable case medians run from 10 weeks in Paediatrics in Kowloon East to 70 weeks in Ophthalmology in New Territories East; the Authority publishes no HA-wide aggregate, only per specialty and cluster, so the range is shown rather than an average of its own making. Urgent and semi-urgent cases are triaged far shorter, and a screening referral is normally stable. The 24 weeks this row carried until 2026-08-11 matched nothing the Authority publishes. The figure of 183 weeks that circulates for Hong Kong is not used here: it appears only in secondary sources, names no specialty or cluster, and exceeds every cell in the Authority's own table, the largest of which is 114 weeks. (https://gia.info.gov.hk/general/202503/19/P2025031900355_489320_1_1742373431998.pdf), measured 2026-08-06. Dollar figures are converted from each centre's won price at ₩1,342 = $1 (open.er-api.com, 2026-09-13). The won figure is the price; the pairing moves with the rate.
