Guides · Entry check

Find your
nationality.

A screening program takes a few days. Every visa-free allowance below is measured in weeks or months, so for a checkup trip the entry rule is almost never the constraint. Type your country to see what applies, or read the table.

Check your nationality

Type a country. The table filters.

Nothing here is hidden before you type. The whole table is on the page, so it works with scripting off and the filter is only a convenience.

Some figures on this page carry a source and measurement date; others are still provisional placeholders. See each figure's own note, and the methodology line under the comparison table, for which is which.

외교부 (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) 사증면제협정 체결현황, and the 법무부 (Ministry of Justice) K-ETA temporary exemption notice as published by the Korean Embassy in the United States. The per-country durations below are the ones these sources state explicitly. This list is deliberately partial and any nationality not on it returns 'not listed' rather than a guess, because an entry rule stated wrongly here is one someone acts on at an airport (https://www.mofa.go.kr; https://www.mofa.go.kr/us-ko/brd/m_4475/view.do?seq=1345959; https://www.hikorea.go.kr), measured 2026-07-31.

If yours is not listed

Absence is not a no.

This table is partial on purpose. Korea has waiver arrangements with well over a hundred countries and territories, and the list above carries only the ones whose stay period the government sources state explicitly. A nationality that is absent is not necessarily one that needs a visa. It is one this page will not guess about.

Korea's general practice is to grant a visa-free entrant up to 30 days, which is still far longer than any program on this site takes. So if you are covered by a waiver but not named above, the likely answer is 30 days rather than a visa, and it is worth confirming with the Korean embassy in your country before you book flights.

ASK ABOUT YOUR CASE
The important caveat

A checkup needs no medical visa.

If you enter visa-free, a comprehensive screening is an ordinary short visit and needs nothing extra. The medical-tourism visa route exists for cases visa-free entry does not cover, and a routine checkup by a visa-free national is not one of them.

Where it does matter is if your nationality has no waiver, if something a screening finds means treatment running past the visa-free period, or if a companion needs to travel on the same basis. We hold a foreign-patient facilitator licence and can issue the invitation those applications rest on. The full route is set out on the visa guide.

One thing to check against the calendar rather than against this page: the K-ETA waiver is a temporary measure expiring 2026-12-31, not a permanent rule.
